Abstract

Description of the “Port Stanley” record group of the archives of the Apostolic Vicariate of Magallanes in custody of the Salesian Historical Archive of Chile, according to ISAD-g standard. The Apostolic Vicariate of Magallanes Fond was distributed in different boxes whose name was “Inspectoría Magallanes”, which was assigned by one of the previous archivists to, safely, compile under this label, all the documentation coming from the Prefectures, Provinces and Vicariates of said territories, which changed their name, while adding, subtracting and overlapping territories in their respective jurisdictions. It was decided to identify, classify and order these documents, to identify the fonds coming from the Apostolic Prefecture of Southern Patagonia, Apostolic Vicariate of Magallanes and Province of San Miguel. The documentation corresponding to the Port Stanley record group is located within the Vicariate Fund.
