Abstract

Towards the end of the 19th century, the salesian and anglican voyages, in pursuit of missionary work in Patagonian territories, marked a period climate in the desire to educate and attribute a civilizing role, which even reached the Falklands Islands. The following work explores salesian planning and daily life, in a territory in dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom, in dialogue with the Protestant side and the colonial government of the Falklands. The hypothesis will be to demonstrate how the South Atlantic islands were another space of religious and educational tensions, in a global context that promoted them.
